Gingham: 2 Ways To Wear The Trend
Gingham (pronounced ging-um. You're welcome). Not gonna lie, I was never too crazy about the print. But, since seeing it all over the Spring 2015 runways, I guess I couldn't help but start to like it through the process of osmosis. What can I say - my brain is just so susceptible to being attracted to new fashion trends.
I still don't know if I'd wear a full-on gingham getup, like a gingham dress, but having it as one part of my outfit sounds nice. Like a gingham skirt. Or top. Or scarf. Those all sound pleasant.
Here, I bring you two different ways you can style the same gingham top. The top outfit is more formal and the bottom one is more casual. What I didn't show, but also think could be quite fun, is a gingham piece paired with a garment that has another type of print. Print-on-print. Pattern mixing. Example: pairing this gingham top with a floral skirt.
It would also be interesting to pair this top with a gingham pair of pants for a really matchy-matchy result. So I guess what I'm saying is, you can pretty much pair gingham with anything you'd like. Maybe don't go too crazy, though. Like maybe stick to pairing gingham with a solid if this is the first you're hearing of pattern mixing.
Whether or not you decide to try the gingham trend is of course your prerogative. But what isn't in your hands is whether or not you'll look awesome if you do choose to wear it. Because you'll definitely look awesome. For sure. It's not even a question. So even if you choose to not look awesome, as long as you're wearing gingham, you will. Sorry.
