My Favorite High-End Makeup Products
Well, here it is. I'm keeping my promise to you guys. And I'm finally posting my favorite high-end makeup products, just like I said I would in my drugstore makeup post.
And when I say "high-end," I mean makeup products that you can't buy at Walmart or Walgreens. I mean makeup that you buy at Sephora and department stores. You know, the makeup that's more expensive and (hopefully) better quality.
I don't necessarily mean high, high end designers like Tom Ford and Giorgio Armani and Dior. Although, I do have one product below that's from Dior. I had to.
I highly recommend looking into and purchasing all//many/some/one of the beauty products pictured below. Because I've done my research and tested out lots and lots of makeup and the options below are the best and they're my all-time favorites and they're all amazing and worth the money.
I do have to point out that I'm partial to natural-looking, dewy, glowing makeup. So my bias will definitely be reflected in the products below. For example, you'll notice that I use a lot of liquid makeup products, because I find that they provide the most natural and dewy finish.
1 . Cover FX foundation and makeup forever foundation
I'm giving you two options here because both of these foundations are awesome. And also because they're both so different.
The Cover FX Custom Cover Drops isn't your typical foundation. It's pure pigment that you mix with another product (moisturizer, facial oil, primer) to magically turn said product into a foundation. This allows you to customize exactly how much coverage you want - one drop for sheer coverage, two to three drops for medium coverage, and four drops for full coverage. This foundation has a super natural finish too.
The Makeup Forever Water Blend foundation is like a second skin. It's so natural looking, and nobody will think you're wearing foundation when it's on. This is a very sheer foundation made up of 80% water, so it's hydrating too. It also has a dewy finish, which I LOVE.
2. nars radiant creamy concealer
A do-it-all concealer that provides full coverage for blemishes and dark eye circles, highlights really nicely, and has a non-cakey finish. YASSSSSSSS.
3. stila aqua glow watercolor blush
I love no-makeup makeup. I also love dewy makeup. I love dewy no-makeup makeup. And this blush imparts a natural, luminous, healthy sheer color to the cheek. Making all my dewy, no-makeup makeup dreams come true. I have this liquid blush in the Rosewater shade.
4. Cover FX highlighter and nars highlighter
Back with my Cover FX drops. This time, it's in the highlighter form. This highlighter can be used alone to strobe and create the most amazing glow, or it can be mixed with your moisturizer or foundation (the Cover FX foundation above would be a perfect accompaniment) to give your whole face a luminous look. These enhancer drops will give you all the natural glow with none of the glitter.
Nars the Multiple was named so because it serves multiple purposes. You can use one of these creamy sticks in a darker shade as a blush, lipstick, eyeshadow, or bronzer, or one of the lighter shades, such as Copacabana, to get the most beautiful pearly/pink highlight. Copacabana provides a non-glittery, glow-from-within effect.
5. Becca cosmetics backlit priming filter
Primers were never something I used or had any desire to use until I discovered this Becca Cosmetics primer. And I don't even use it as a primer. I use this primer on days when I don't want to wear foundation, because it gives the skin a beautiful, healthy glow. It's so nice that I almost feel like it's a waste to put foundation over it.
But of course, feel free to use this primer for the purpose it was actually intended for - as a smoothing base for foundation.
6. cover fx bronzer and benefit bronzer
Yep, the very same Cover FX custom enhancer drops I use as my highlighter. Because there's two types of formulas this product comes in. Five of the shades in this product are more shimmery and act as highlighters, and two of the shades are more matte and act as bronzers. And this is one incredible liquid bronzer. Not too orange, not too muddy, and the most natural bronze glow.
And as for a powder bronzer, this Benefit Hoola Bronzer is the bomb. Like the Cover FX bronzer, it's also a perfect shade that imparts a natural bronzed effect.
7. Grande Lips Hydrating Lip Plumper
Finally - a lip plumper that actually works! And trust me, I've tried many.
Not only does this plumper come in a variety of hydrating, glossy shades that plump your lips within minutes of application, but after several times of use, the plumping effect actually lasts when you're no longer wearing the product!!!!!!!!
8. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel
I don't fill in my brows, but I brush them and then set them with this clear brow gel to have them stay in just the shape I brushed them in all day. It really, really works.
9. Lancome Mascara and Dior Mascara
This Lancome mascara is hands-down the best lengthening mascara I have ever tried. Ever, ever. And no flaking.
And this Dior mascara is the best natural-looking, thickening mascara that is very buildable, giving you as natural or as bold a look as you desire. And no flaking.
10. Beautyblender cleanser
Don't let the name fool you. While this cleanser does remove every trace of dirt and makeup from your BeautyBlender, it'll also clean all your regular makeup brushes just as effectively.
As of yet, I've only tried the solid cleanser, so I can't vouch for the liquid one, but I do think it's safe to assume it's a great brush cleanser as well.
