5. DKNY Trench Coat
Any fashion insider will tell you there are a few key clothing pieces that every woman should have in her closet. On that list would probably be a black blazer and an LBD (little black dress). Also very likely to be on that list is a trench coat. Because trench coats are timeless.
Now, these fashion insiders might also tell you that you should spend more on these closet staples than you would on a trendy item that you're not going to wear for more than one season. Which is true - if you're going to spend mucho dinero (now you know how to say "lots of money" in Spanish; your friends will be so impressed), spend it on clothing that you can wear for a long, long, long time.
But guess what? You see that Forever 21 trench coat up there? I have it. And you know when I bought it? Around 4 years ago. And it's still in perfect condition. And the store still carries it, which demonstrates how classic a trench coat is. So, you can spend a lot of money on these items. But you also don't have to. Free choice, people. (But do any of us really have free choice? Oh right, I'm forgetting this is a fashion and food blog.)
The two classic colors you will find trench coats in are black (featured below), and beige/tan (featured above). Which isn't to say you can't get a trench coat in fluorescent yellow. But then the trench coat becomes more "trendy" and less "closet staple-y." Either way, get a trench coat. Thanks.
