Finally! A style guide post where the slip dress is the star.
I mean, I've beaten around the bush for a while now by posting slip dresses in posts that highlighted other garments - turtlenecks, cardigans etc. But now, the slip dress is the main item being styled. As is only appropriate. Because slip dresses are some of the most versatile clothing items to style.
Case in point, the three outfits here. Our first outfit pairs the slip dress with a striped blouse, some cute socks and sneakers, and some everyday accessories. A potentially very formal satin slip dress, made casual.
The second outfit features the slip dress with a ribbed black turtleneck underneath it and a leather jacket over it. All black, chic, and easily transitioned from day to night.
Our last outfit is the most formal. Here, the slip dress is worn alone (no top under or over it). I find that a slip dress looks the fanciest when worn without anything under it. There's also an oversized wool coat, a posh, pink satchel, and some pretty, lady-like accessories.
